Demo Gear Too!
We're also clearing out our demo boards from this summer. Here's the list to choose from.

What is stand up paddling?
One of the hottest new water sports to come along since windsurfing and kiteboarding is stand up paddling. Though technically not new (SUP was started decades ago by the Hawaiian beach boys in the mushy waves of Waikiki), the sport has recently gained popularity on inland waters, as well as in the ocean. It's fun to do, easy to learn and gives a great workout, exercising all muscle groups with zero impact, and fine-tuning balance all at the same time.

Anyone can learn stand up paddling, and it requires neither wind nor waves to have a blast! That said, many of the new boards are configured to accept windsurfing rigs, and work great for light wind sailing sessions. Big Winds' staff has been enjoying SUPs for the past two years and we've tested many of the boards on the market.
We are proud to stock five brands of boards, for a total of fourteen different models. Our wide selection of paddles, leashes and other stand up gear offers something for everyone, from flatwater cruising to performance wave riding. Give us a call at 888-509-4210. We're your stand up paddle experts!

"If you want the very best in quality products, selection and service, there is no place in Hood River that compares with Big Winds. That's why we chose Big Winds to be the exclusive Naish windsurfing and kiteboarding dealer for the Gorge!"

"Just wanted to let you know how much I love the new Pacifico. I've used it often as a stand up board but the real surprise is how nicely it sails.
"I've sailed it in everything from 10 knots with a 6.8 sail, to gusty 15-30 knot conditions. The board surfs incredibly well in those conditions, and it's the most fun I've had on waves in marginal conditions in forever.
"Thanks for the prompt service."
